Garri Saganenko is from New England. He studied philosophy at St. John's College. After graduating, he lived for several years on Martha's Vineyard while working as an Ice Hockey Official. In 2023 he received a Massachusetts Cultural Council grant to publish his debut book, 180 Pounds of Poet Meat. That same year he moved to Berlin where now, in addition to writing, he acts for the stage and for film. An essay of his is forthcoming in You May Now Fail to Destroy Me, a collection of work from American writers on their most dangerous beliefs.
